Middle school students will have the opportunity to see The Giver at the Athena Grande on Thursday, Sept. 11. Students may "purchase" a ticket with the "money" in their Lancer checking account. (Students will not have to pay real money to attend.) The Athena Grande will provide popcorn and drinks for all! Following the movie, the group will head to the Athens outdoor recreation area on East State St. to play ball, relax, and eat sack lunches provided by the school (or students may pack their own). Students will receive their first "paycheck", which is based on midterm grades, on Monday, Sept. 8! Permission slips must be turned in by Tuesday, Sept. 9. 

With the help of some of our high school cheerleaders, the MS "Spirit Club" exploratory class has planned the very first middle school pep rally! The pep rally will feature the FH Lancer Marching Band performing a new song and dance number! Members of fall sports teams will be introduced, including football, volleyball, cross country, cheerleaders, and marching band. The winner of the "Maroon and Gold" competition will be announced: the homeroom that shows the most Lancer spirit by wearing school colors will win ice cream! The pep rally will be held Friday, Sept. 5, from 12:45 to 1:20.
