Counseling Services

The Federal Hocking Local School District’s Comprehensive School Counseling Program addresses three domains in the lives of students: academic, social/emotional, and career. The program is guided by the standards and ethics of the American School Counselor Association and the Ohio School Counseling Association. Counselors will provide developmentally appropriate activities to facilitate the social/emotional growth of students. It is the goal of Federal Hocking school counselors to spend the majority of their time in direct service with students so that every student has the opportunity to grow into an engaged and productive citizen.

The majority of my time at Federal Hocking is spent in 3 main areas for grades 7-12:

  • Responsive Services - where I meet with students to address immediate issues through one-on-one counseling, conflict resolution, small group counseling, and crisis response
  • Individual Student Planning - where I meet with students to discuss personal goals, behavior contracts, career and college planning, etc.
  • Indirect Student Services - where I collaborate with teachers, parents, outside agencies, etc. to help students be successful in the classroom
How do you reach me? Or schedule an appointment?
I have an open-door policy. Students can swing by anytime or schedule a meeting with me for a time that works best for them.
